We had the extraordinary pleasure of visiting the ruins of Przezmark Castle, which brief history I will try to present below.
The Teutonic castle in Przezmark, built in the 14th century by the command of Komtur Luther of Brunswick, is picturesquely located between the lakes Motława Wielka and Motława Mała. Initially, it served as the residence of the prosecutor and later the Teutonic vogt, but it changed hands many times during various wars, including the Thirteen Years’ War. Currently, the castle is in ruins, privately owned, undergoing renovation, and its grounds are open to tourists.
